WHATEVER the WEATHER

Whether your preference is snow or beach, or anything in between, we can oblige.

Ordinarily we have considered our area to have an almost sub-tropical microclimate all of it's own. However, last weekend through several kms of the Waioeka Gorge, there was snow. Winter's white blanket sent a serious chill through our town, and created an enormous thrill for those who enjoyed making snowmen and angels, and those who just wanted to see nature at it's coolest.

Of course it was the first day of Winter

Subsequent to nature's moist litter, we have had very fresh starts to the days, followed by the clearest, bluest, skies and a lake like ocean. There is something about the purity of a fine winter's day. Everything looks so new and fresh it's okay to be cold outside and then feel overlywarm in a sun heated car, or an inside fire or whatever your household equivalent is.

And then will come the rainy season.

We can tolerate that because we know it is not forever, that our soil needs the moisture, those with household tanks need them replenished, and any dusty grime of dry, gets all washed away.

Here in Opotiki, we know that whatever the weather we always look good, that extremes of nature are few and far between, and each season is only (generally) 3 months long and that's very manageable by anyone's standards.

No matter what time of year, you will need to bring your sunnies, board shorts or wetsuit, fishing and hunting gear, light and heavy clothing, surf board and definitely don't forget the snowboard (just in case).

  1. i see you have the local harcourts link at the bottom of this post, dose this mean you have finally joined them i have noticed over the past 18months your company has lost all its long term sales people. Good on you for desiding to go with harcourts what do they say " if you cant beat them join them"

  3. Hi Anonymous
Thanks for you comment. Not sure why you would think that we have linked Harcourts to our site. As we are a real estate company who sells property in the Eastern Bay of Plenty I am trying to target all persons interested in properties pertaining to our area. Our company is the only original and independent real estate company left in Opotiki, with our principal being a salesperson of 20 plus years, who has a great deal of real estate experience. Of course my experience, as I have mentioned before in my blogs is minimal, but that does not dampen my enthusiasm one little bit. Being independent of franchise enables us to pursue all and every avenue in advertising our business, and don’t you just love this technology that allows it to happen.
Regarding the loss of long-term salespersons, you have to allow people to take up other opportunities when they feel the time’s right, otherwise we would be living in a rather draconian society. I am very happy to be part of Opotiki Realty Ltd and our company is more than happy to work with the franchised companies, especially when it is for the betterment of the client.

  5. Hi Noeline,
I'm a regular reader of the blog and am interested in the comment made by anonymous. The bad spelling aside, I get the impression they may have a vested interest in Harcourts and it's a bit of sour grapes. Keep up the good work and interesting insights into your town.

  7. Sorry noeline but i must have got it wrong however you HAVE got the Eastern Bay Realty Link at the bottom of your last entry, so maybe its not me that has vested interest? i do have 3 rentals in Opotiki and often look at real estate sites and have noticed how Harcourts have by far the majority share in the Market and you are knowen for following the leaders after all!!!

  8. Just thought I better re-iterate I have not added a link for another company anonymous, they are just tags, labels, call them what you will that mean when someone is looking for real estate in the eastern bay this site (Reality) will come up during their search.

  9. I am a little confused myself now as I thought most people realised that the labels are not links they are just key words so that anyone searching for real estate in the eastern bay of plenty will have the option of viewing our REALITY site when Google or whatever search engine they are using brings up their request.. And as we sell real estate in the EBOP it is relevant to put that as a label to reach a wider market and if that happens to include other business' along the way, lucky for them There is no such thing as opposition, just opportunities to work harder.

  10. Sorry anonymous it would seem my comments are a little out of sync with yours in the order of responses. Link, label call it what you will I think I have described my reasoning for what I have done and why I have done it, as well as I can. I don't think size or majority matters to me as it does to you. I am thrilled you have invested in our town it's well worth the investment. I am definitely a follower, especially as I am directed by a good leader.
